Also, Milk and Honey Cidery which brings exciting flavor to our local beverage landscape, and Nora Taksdal shares her thoughts on Syttende Mai in Norway. It airs on Pioneer PBS on Thursday, February 15 at 7 p.m. and repeats the following Sunday at 7 p.m. and Monday at 1:30 p.m.

Luke and Laura Hartog of Rugged Wellness MN rent out barrel saunas in Avon, MN. Originally inspired by the work of Wim Hof, their mission is to motivate others to seek wellness through healthy adventures that challenge the mind, body, and soul.

“We saw it as an opportunity to bring people together. It’s what life is about, having experiences, and it’s super cool to do that with other people,” says Laura Hartog.

Milk & Honey Ciders produces fine American cider from heirloom and traditional cider apple cultivars. Their farmhouse cidery and orchard focuses on interesting, dry, highly aromatic and tannic ciders made in the rolling hills of Stearns County with minimal intervention.

“What we envisioned was someplace that captured this countryside experience. We first were making cider back in the woods at a place where people couldn't come to and we knew we wanted to be somewhere where people could also come to us and have our cider at a place.”

Nora Taksdal explains the intricacies of Norwegian bunads during the Syttende Mai celebration in Oslo, Norway.

“The bunad is a costume that we use in the most important ceremonies of life,” says Taksdal.
