GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — The confirmed guest for the live April 27 episode of Your Legislators is Minnesota State Demographer Susan Brower. The episode will air on April 27 at 8 p.m. on Pioneer PBS.
Brower was appointed to the position of state demographer in 2012. The Minnesota State Demographic Center collects and analyzes data about people living and working in Minnesota. According to the SDC’s website, Brower “travels the state talking with Minnesotans about the new social and economic realities that are brought about by recent demographic shifts. Susan's work applies an understanding of demographic trends to changes in a range of areas including the state's economy and workforce, education, health, immigration and rural population changes.”
Policy makers in the Minnesota Legislature are given information from the SDC to help them better understand Minnesota’s demographic data as they are writing, debating and passing bills.
