GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Steam Machine and The Good Intentions will be the featured acts on an upcoming broadcast of Grassland Jam — the bluegrass and Americana music program produced by Pioneer PBS. The program will air on Saturday, April 4 at 7 p.m. CST and will be available for online viewing at 7:30 that night at www.pioneer.org/grasslandjam. The broadcast will be repeated on Monday, April 6 at noon.

From the Steam Machine website: Steam Machine carries forward the “power and glory of the old stuff” with drive and relevance. Clean, powerful fiddling, rolling three finger banjo and classic brother-style duets over a driving, rock-solid rhythm section combine to form a big sound on stage and square dance floor alike. Band members include AJ Srubas on fiddle; Aaron Tacke on banjo and vocals; Rina Rossi on guitar, vocal and square dance calling; and Nokosee Fields on bass.

From the Good Intentions website: Chris Silver’s band, The Good Intentions, is a product of his love for the first generation of bluegrass. The group’s live performances feature songs from the bluegrass masters as well as material penned by Silver. The arrangements are powerful and, while their music is informed by the likes of Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers, it includes the fresh elements of blues, swing and world music. Band members include Chris Silver on fiddle and mandolin, Heath Loy on banjo, JD. Shaffer on Bass and Mike Cramer on guitar.

Grassland Jam is produced and edited by Matthew Johnson. The program is made possible by contributions from the voters of Minnesota through a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
