GRANITE FALLS, Minn.Your Legislators host Barry Anderson will once again moderate the 2021 live premiere broadcast of Your Legislators on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 8 p.m. on many public television stations across the state. Confirmed legislative guests include Senate Deputy Majority Leader Mark Johnson (R) District 01, East Grand Forks, Senator Melisa Franzen (DFL) District 49, Edina, House Deputy Majority Leader Liz Olson (DFL) District 7B, Duluth and House Deputy Minority Leader Anne Neu Brindley (R) District 32B, North Branch.

In order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Anderson and the Legislative guests won’t meet in-person. They will instead use Zoom to discuss the topics important to Minnesotans. Viewers with questions are still encouraged to call 1-800-726-3178, email yourtv@pioneer.org or tweet @YourLegislators during the hour-long program.

In addition to greater Minnesota Public Television station broadcasts, households in Pioneer PBS’s viewing area can also live stream the program at www.pioneer.org/live.

Your Legislators broadcasts are repeated every Monday on the Minnesota Channel at 2 a.m. and 8 p.m. through the end of the legislative session in May.

Each episode of the program is made available for viewing online at www.pioneer.org/yourlegislators.

Pioneer PBS began broadcasting Your Legislators 41 years ago in 1981. In past years, viewers from more than 500 communities throughout Minnesota have called or emailed questions to the program.

“It is the only statewide, live, call-in program where citizens can have their questions answered directly,” said Your Legislators producer, Matthew Johnson. “We expect there will be a lot of interest in this session as the Legislature grapples with the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic.”

Statewide broadcasts of Your Legislators are sponsored by the Minnesota Corn Growers Association and the Minnesota Farmers Union.
