GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Your Legislators host Barry Anderson will once again moderate the 2019 premiere broadcast of Your Legislators on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 8 p.m. on many public television stations across the state. Legislative guests will include Senate Deputy Majority Leader Michelle Benson-R; Senate Minority Leader Tom Bakk-DFL; House Speaker Melissa Hortman-DFL; and House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt-R.
Viewers with questions are encouraged to call 1-800-726-3178, email firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet @YourLegislators during the hour-long program.
In addition to greater Minnesota Public Television station broadcasts, Your Legislators is carried live on cable networks and community access stations such as SPNN and Town Square TV.
Your Legislators broadcasts are repeated every Monday on the Minnesota Channel at 2 a.m. and 8 p.m. through the end of the legislative session in May.
Each episode of the program is made available for viewing online at www.pioneer.org/yourlegislators. Short video segments featuring the issues discussed in each program can also be viewed online.
Pioneer Public Television began broadcasting Your Legislators 39 years ago in 1981. In past years, viewers from more than 500 communities throughout Minnesota have called or emailed questions to the program.
“It is the only statewide, live, call-in program where citizens can have their questions answered directly,” said Your Legislators producer, Jon Panzer. “We expect there will be a lot of interest in this session as the Legislature begins working with a new Governor and starts putting together the state budget.”
Statewide broadcasts of Your Legislators are sponsored by the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE), the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Council 5 and Minnesota Farmers Union.
