Pioneer kicks off a new lineup of local programs and screening events in 2019

It’s a new year and Pioneer Public Television is serving up a variety of new programs and public events designed to connect our viewing area and to showcase all that is good in this region we call home.

We live in a place where family, food, community, artistic expression and outdoor activity all mingle to create a great quality of life. These qualities will be on full display in these upcoming events:

Thursday, January 10, 2019 AT 8 P.M.:
Your Legislators begins broadcasting its 39th season.
Barry Anderson will again serve as the host of Pioneer’s longest running local program. Your Legislators is the only the only statewide, live, call-in program where citizens have questions answered directly by their lawmakers.

Thursday, January 17, 2019 AT 7:30 P.M.:
Prairie Yard & Garden Season 32 broadcast premiere.
Mary Holm of Morris returns for her fifth season as host for this popular science-based program. PY&G is produced by the University of Minnesota, Morris in collaboration with Pioneer Public Television.

Sunday, January 20, 2019 AT 1 P.M.:
Postcards screening party at the GMI Community Room in Milan.
Our new documentary about rosemaler Karen Jenson and her fabulous home will be featured.

Monday, January 21, 2019 AT 7 P.M.:
Postcards screening party at Talking Waters Brewery in Montevideo.
Join us as we take a sneak peek at some upcoming stories from Season 10.

Thursday, January 24, 2019 AT 7 P.M.:
Postcards Season 10 broadcast premiere.
Pioneer’s award-winning regional art, culture and history program returns for its 10th season with stories from Redwood Falls, Fergus Falls, Dawson, New London and dozens of additional communities in the Pioneer viewing area.

Sunday, January 27, 2019 AT 7:30 P.M.:
Prairie Sportsman Season 10 broadcast premiere.
The 2019 season will take viewers on adventures around the state including southwest Minnesota’s Blue Mounds State Park, the Lake of the Woods, the Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon from Duluth to Grand Portage and majestic golden eagles near Wabasha.

Wednesday, February 27, 2019 AT 7 P.M.:
PY&G “Barn Quilts and Flowers” episode screening at the Stevens County Historical Society in Morris.
Mary Holm visits with Ward Voorhees about the new barn quilt trail in West Central Minnesota.
