GRANITE FALLS, Minnesota, March 26, 2026 “Flower Power,” the next episode of Prairie Yard & Garden, airs Thursday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m. on Pioneer PBS as host Mary Holm travels to Fertile to visit Bergeson Nursery.

Holm meets with owner Joe Bergeson to tour the nursery’s display beds and share practical tips for growing and maintaining vibrant annual flower gardens.

Founded in 1937, Bergeson Nursery has grown from a small operation selling bare-root apple trees into a regional destination for annual flowers. Bergeson highlights reliable shade options, including impatiens, coleus and begonias, while also introducing varieties such as Whopper Begonia and Wasabi Coleus that can tolerate full sun.

The episode also explores ways to create continuous color using annuals, including combinations often described as “thriller, filler and spiller.” Bergeson shares guidance on fertilization, watering and extending the life of plants throughout the season.

“Flower Power” offers practical ideas for gardeners looking to refresh containers, hanging baskets or garden beds.

Prairie Yard & Garden rebroadcasts Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Mondays at 1 p.m. following the initial air date on Pioneer PBS.
