GRANITE FALLS, Minn.Grassland Jam proudly presents the legendary Ricky Skaggs with his band Kentucky Thunder and another high-energy set from Monroe Crossing on the upcoming broadcast of Grassland Jam — the bluegrass and Americana music program produced by Pioneer PBS. The program will air on Saturday, May 9 at 7 p.m. CST. The broadcast will be repeated on Monday, May 11 at noon.

Grammy award-winning Ricky Skaggs is always forging ahead with cross-cultural, genre-bending musical ideas and inspirations. His life's path has taken him to various musical genres, from where it all began in bluegrass music, to striking out on new musical journeys, while still leaving his musical roots intact.

Minnesota-based Monroe Crossing “dazzles audiences with an electrifying blend of classic bluegrass, bluegrass gospel and heartfelt originals,” according to their website. “Their airtight harmonies, razor sharp arrangements and on-stage rapport make them audience favorites across the United States and Canada.”

Grassland Jam is produced and edited by Matthew Johnson. The program is made possible by contributions from the voters of Minnesota through a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
