GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — For the past several months, Pioneer PBS Minnesota West intern Tanner Peterson of Clarkfield has been interviewing Native American singers. On Tuesday, December 29 at 3:30 p.m. viewers will be able to take part in a special online watch party to view these interviews on the Pioneer PBS Facebook page.

The singers featured in the stories include Hoksida Blacklance, Opie Day, Desirae Desnomie and Gabriel Desrosiers. The videos give an inside view of how song has impacted these four artists. It will also help people who are unfamiliar with Native American singing culture and traditions better understand the importance song has for the singer and their community.

Each video interview in the “Undowanpi” (We Sing) series will be released on four consecutive days, one at time on Pioneer PBS’s YouTube and Facebook pages on December 20 - 23, 2021. All four of the videos will be watched together with Tanner Peterson as host during the Facebook watch party on December 29. For more information, email Peterson at tpetereson@pioneer.org.
