GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — After nearly 40 years on public television, the producers of Nightly Business Report (NBR) have notified Pioneer PBS that they will cease production of NBR at the end of this year. The final episode will be Friday, December 27, 2019. As of this writing, no permanent replacement program has been created. Pioneer PBS will be airing a number of temporary replacement shows for the near future. The PBS Kids show Wild Kratts will now be broadcast at the 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday time slot. A variety of public affairs programs, including The McLaughlin Group, Firing Line with Margaret Hoover,To the Contrary and Pioneer PBS’s Compass program will run during the 10 p.m. Monday through Friday time slot.
