GRANITE FALLS, Minn., February 1st, 2024 - The next episode of Postcards for this current 15th season features the Granite Falls Western Fest PRCA Stampede Rodeo which brings quality rodeo to Granite Falls, Minnesota; Chloe K Photography which captures intense moments of Minnesota rodeos; and also a sneak peak at a new documentary about pro rodeo athlete Tanner Aus. “Rodeo in Minnesota” airs on Pioneer PBS on Thursday, February 8 at 7 p.m. and repeats the following Sunday at 7 p.m. and Monday at 1:30 p.m.
Granite Falls Western Fest PRCA Stampede Rodeo is a world-class rodeo held annually at LeeMar Ranch in Granite Falls, Minn. This segment also features John Richter and Holly Johnson of the Western Fest board. “Professional rodeo is really a family event. There’s something for everyone,” says Richter.
It’s followed by the story of Chloe Hatzenbeller, a rodeo photographer from Madison, Minnesota., who talks about her love for the sport and what it takes to get a winning shot in a high intensity environment. “The thing I enjoy most about the rodeos is the people. Everyone’s just so down to earth, they’re very fun to be around,” says Hatzenbeller.
Finally, get a sneak peak at a new feature rodeo documentary entitled "Luck & Love: A Rodeo Story" which gives viewers a glimpse inside the life of star rodeo athlete. As a professional bareback bronc rider, Tanner Aus must balance his grueling schedule with family life in small-town Minnesota. From the Aus family farm in Granite Falls, to Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming, to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
