GRANITE FALLS, Minnesota, March 26, 2026 — New stories from across the region continue on season 17 of Postcards, which airs Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m. on Pioneer PBS.

In Willmar, Foxhole Brewhouse has expanded from its original downtown location to a larger space overlooking Willmar Lake. Owned by Ryan and Liv Fuchs and Grant and Cari Huisinga, the brewery offers award-winning craft beer alongside a unique dining experience.

Near Belgrade, Dave and Jessie Reigstad opened Smilin’ D Arena in 2024 as a place to ride horses during the winter months. The arena has since grown into a destination for Western events, drawing participants and spectators from across central Minnesota.

The episode also highlights a long-standing tradition in Appleton, where streets have been named after fallen veterans since the end of World War II. A new public art installation by Kerry Kolke Bonk and Katia Andreeva adds painted portraits to those names, honoring the individuals behind them.

Postcards also looks at Memorial Day traditions in Appleton, where the community continues to gather in remembrance.

“It’s going to be an ongoing legacy now that we’ve got the pictures and the stories of those soldiers that were willing to sacrifice that much for our freedom,” said Dennis Kohlman, commander of AMVETS Post 151.

Postcards rebroadcasts Sundays at 7 p.m. and Mondays at 1:30 p.m. following the initial air date on Pioneer PBS.
