GRANITE FALLS, Minnesota, May 7, 2026 — New stories from across the region continue in Season 17 of Postcards Thursday, May 14 at 7 p.m. on Pioneer PBS.

Postcards highlights community-driven cycling initiatives in Rochester, featuring We Bike Rochester and Pata de Perro and their work to provide bicycles and maintenance resources.

In the basement of a former fire station, several organizations collaborate to promote cycling access and education.

“It’s the most efficient machine for transferring human power to movement,” said Paul Claus, volunteer coordinator for Pedal-It-Forward.

Volunteer mechanics offer tools, parts and guidance to help individuals repair their own bikes, while others collect donated bicycles for those in need of reliable transportation. Additional volunteers work with middle school students to teach safe riding skills.

“You just have to come in and have a positive attitude. And we’ll help you fix your bike, we’ll teach you how to fix the bike,” said Enrique Zavela, program coordinator for Pata de Perro.

In the Twin Cities, singer, songwriter and guitarist Carolyne Naomi writes and performs music inspired by her Nigerian heritage.

Carolyne Naomi, a singer, songwriter and guitarist originally from Lagos, Nigeria, began her musical journey at age 9 when she wrote her first song (about a math assignment she didn’t want to do). Naomi has since performed in church and school choirs, appeared on MTN Project Fame West Africa, a West African music reality TV show; studied music education in Nigeria and Minnesota; performed at festivals and events; and produced music videos for her original work all while maintaining a corporate career.

“I feel that music speaks to a place in my heart that sometimes words just aren't able to articulate,” said Naomi.

Postcards rebroadcasts Sundays at 7 p.m. and Mondays at 1:30 p.m. following the initial airing on Pioneer PBS.
