GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Host Bret Amundson is with veterans who memorialize a friend at Lake of the Woods where the Amundson family holds its annual fishing trip. “Lake of the Woods Remembrances” airs on Pioneer PBS Sunday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m.
In July, the late Mark Bode, a U.S. Navy veteran who grew up in Wood Lake, was memorialized at Lake of the Woods during an annual veterans gathering. His ashes were placed and sealed in a rock that family and friends ceremoniously placed by a veteran’s memorial at Arneson’s Rocky Point. The segment also features veteran Jesse Tintes and his wife Brandi who volunteer to take veterans, first responders and kids fishing at Lake of the Woods
Next up, Host Bret Amundson is at Lake of the Woods where Amundson family members are holding their annual fishing trip and pulling in trophy walleye up to 30 inches long. Every year, photos from the Amundson trip are turned into a slideshow set to music -- a production that Bret took over from his cousin Scott a few years ago. Taking photos at the annual event and spending time with his uncle Gil Amundson, former Channel 11 news anchor in Minneapolis, led to Bret’s interest in photography and video production.
