GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Molsky’s Mountain Drifters and Switched At Birth will be the featured acts on an upcoming broadcast of Grassland Jam — the bluegrass and Americana music program produced by Pioneer PBS. The program will air on Saturday, February 22 at 7 p.m. CST and will be available for online viewing at 7:30 that night at www.pioneer.org/grasslandjam. The broadcast will be repeated on Monday, February 24 at noon. The performances were recorded at the Minnesota Bluegrass & Old Time Music Association Festival held in Richmond in August 2019.

Molsky’s Mountain Dirfters is comprised of Bruce Molsky on fiddle, Stash Wyslouch on guitar and vocals and Allison de Groot on the clawhammer banjo. These striking musicians have come together for a new sound within the traditional music genre through their audacious approach.

Switched At Birth is a country, rock, blues, folk and bluegrass acoustic music band featuring Pam Kolupailo on guitar and vocals; Rick Anderson on guitar, banjo and vocals; Mark Briere on mandolin and vocals; and Mark Rizzardi on bass and vocals.

Since 1998, Switched At Birth has been entertaining folks with their wide array of musical styles. On any given performance, you can expect to hear bluegrass, folk, blues, country, Cajun, Irish and rock ‘n’ roll music. The group’s mission is to have fun and it shows!

Grassland Jam is produced and edited by Matthew Johnson. The program is made possible by contributions from the voters of Minnesota through a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
