GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and Barbaro will be the featured acts on the upcoming broadcast of Grassland Jam — the bluegrass and Americana music program produced by Pioneer PBS. The program will air on Saturday, May 2 at 7 p.m. CST and will be available for online viewing at 7:30 that night at www.pioneer.org/grasslandjam. The broadcast will be repeated on Monday, May 4 at noon.

Doyle Lawson is an American traditional bluegrass and Southern gospel musician. Inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in 2012, he is best known as a mandolin player, vocalist, producer, and leader of the six-man group Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver.

Minneapolis and Winona-based Barbaro have created an eclectic sound through original songwriting, with inspiration derived from bluegrass, jazz and chamber music. Their new album, Dressed in Roses, released January 2020, “stands as a true testament to their musical identity and the sound that has launched one of the Midwest’s most in-demand acoustic acts,” according to Bluegrass Situation.

Grassland Jam is produced and edited by Matthew Johnson. The program is made possible by contributions from the voters of Minnesota through a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
