Funtime Polka Party to launch a new season starting October 6

GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Pioneer Public Television’s new season of polka shows will begin airing on Saturday, October 6 at 5 p.m. New episodes will be rebroadcast on Mondays at 2
p.m. All new episodes will be available for online viewing at www.pioneer.org/funtimepolkaparty.

Pioneer began airing Funtime Polka on Saturday and Sunday nights in 1996 and last year rebranded the show as Funtime Polka Party with Patty Chmielewski and Michael Bell.

This new season will feature new sets of songs and dancers recorded at the 39th Annual International Polkafest at the Grand Casino in Hinckley in May 2017. The new episodes include performances by Joey Miskulin, Rod Cerar, Jeff Winard, Richie Yurkovich & Polkarioty, Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchmen, the Leon Olsen Show, the Singing Slovenes, the Alaska Polka Chips, Dale Dahmen and the Polka Beats, the Top Notchmen and the Chmielewski Funtime Band.

The premiere episode set to air on Saturday, October 6 at 5 p.m. will feature the music of Minnesota’s very own Chmielewski Funtime Band and the Alaska Polka Chips of Anchorage. The 30-minute broadcast will be repeated on Monday, October 8 at 2 p.m. and will be available for online viewing at www.pioneer.org/funtimepolkaparty after October 6.
