In “Million Dollar Bass” Bret Amundson visits a bass fishing tournament that’s been going on for the last 25 years. Held on the Mississippi River in Wabasha, this tournament helps to raise money for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It's structured differently than traditional fishing tournaments by prioritizing fundraising over angling prowess. Teams have a fundraising minimum, an accelerator prize, and boat order determined by donation amounts, and in 2023, the tournament hit a new record for fundraising dollars.
The “Science of Destroying Invaders” highlights the work of the Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center and how experts are advancing ways to manage unwelcome aquatic hitchhikers, including using genetic controls.
Then in “Fast Forage: Curly Dock” Nicole Zempel explains how to enjoy curly dock's delights year-round and how to forage its greens, seeds, and roots.
