GRANITE FALLS, Minnesota, March 7, 2024 - Pioneer PBS and West Central Area FFA will be co-hosting a screening of “Learning to Grow in Barrett” at WCA Secondary School (301 County Road 2) in Barrett on Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The event will feature a premiere (before it will air on Pioneer PBS) screening of Prairie Yard & Garden’s upcoming half-hour episode featuring Eric Sawatzke and his West Central Area FFA students. They are learning to raise flowers and food to benefit themselves and many others in the community as they help stock the area's food shelves with fresh produce.

After watching the episode, attendees will be treated to homemade dessert, while participating in conversation with the PY&G crew. PY&G’s Host Mary Holm, Executive Producer Mike Cihak, instructor Eric Sawatzke and several students will be available to answer questions. Greenhouse tours will be available at the conclusion of the event.

“We are so excited to share how this greenhouse is transforming the community and student learning experiences,” said Sawatzke.

An RSVP is required so adequate seating and refreshments can be arranged. Please RSVP by visiting pioneer.org/events or by calling Pioneer PBS at 1-800-726-3178.
