Ashley Hanson to present on Obama Fellowship in Granite Falls December 3

Email share

GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — 2018 Obama Foundation fellow Ashley Hanson will present her second leadership “shareback” on Monday, December 3 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Pioneer Public Television’s studio in Granite Falls.

More than 20,000 global change-makers applied for the first ever Obama Foundation Fellowship and 20 of those applicants were selected for the inaugural cohort.

Ashley Hanson from PlaceBase Productions, the Department of Public Transformation and the YES! House in Granite Falls was one of the individuals selected for her work using the arts to help rural communities connect across difference, revitalize their rural spaces and create new narratives across the United States.

Obama Foundation Fellows meet twice per year for week-long leadership development trainings. At this public event, Hanson will relay what she learned from her most recent fellowship gathering, including participating in the 2018 Obama Summit, and how she hopes to use these experiences to enhance the Southwest Minnesota region. This interactive presentation will build upon the ideas shared in an earlier “shareback” held in August, though the material will stand alone for those who did not attend the first event.

A $5 or more donation will be collected at the door. Proceeds will go to benefit the YES! House restoration fund.

Seating is limited and advance reservations are requested. For more information visit www.pioneer.org or call 1 877-726-3178.
