GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — On Thursday, March 25 at 7 p.m. Pioneer PBS’s Postcards program will feature stories about a musician in Minneapolis, a folk school in Grand Marais and a student violinist from Willmar. The episode will be rebroadcast on Sunday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. and on Monday, March 29 at 1:30 p.m.

The stories will also be available for online viewing through the station’s website: www.pioneer.org/postcards.

Taylor Ngiri Seaberg is a gender non-binary, third generation Kenyan-American artist and musician who recently found themself in the midst of a historical summer on Minneapolis’ south side. Postcards was there to capture their smooth rock and hypnotizing vocals.

The North House Folk School was founded in Grand Marais in 1997 by a small handful of inspired locals passionate about traditional craft and cooperative learning. Before the pandemic, the school was hosting more than 350 classes and 3,000 students per year, connecting students and instructors from throughout Minnesota, North America and the world.

Ashley Guse started playing the violin when she was in kindergarten. Now as a high school student, she is playing at weddings, funerals, athletic events, in churches and concert halls. “The violin has really helped me get through life,” Guse said. “And it's been with me forever.”
