GRANITE FALLS, Minn. —Grassland Jam will feature Blue Groove on Saturday, June 29 at 7 p.m. on Pioneer PBS. The program will be available for online viewing immediately after the broadcast on www.pioneer.org/grasslandjam. The broadcast will be repeated on Monday, July 1 at noon.
Blue Groove is an award-winning bluegrass band based in Minneapolis/St. Paul. The band draws material from a number of past and current bluegrass artists to express a contemporary sound while maintaining ties to traditional bluegrass and all of its drive, improvisation and harmony.
Members of Blue Groove include Adelle Hyrkas, lead vocals and rhythm guitar; David Smith, banjo and vocals; Bob Doe, lead guitar, dobro and vocals; Tom Erickson, upright bass and vocals, Tom Wadzinski mandolin and vocals; and special guest fiddler Richard Kriehn.
The performance was recorded at the Minnesota Bluegrass & Old Time Music Association Festival held in Richmond in August 2018.
