GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Pioneer PBS’s Postcards program will feature a story about Fergus Falls artist Kirk Williams to be broadcast on Thursday, February 3 at 7 p.m. The episode will be rebroadcast on Sunday, February 6 at 7 p.m. and on Monday, February 7 at 1:30 p.m. The stories will also be available for online viewing through the station’s website: www.pioneer.org/postcards and YouTube Channel.

Diagnosed with a critical heart condition at age 33, Kirk Williams has spent the majority of his life with a ticking time bomb in his chest. That hasn't stopped this Fergus Falls artist from becoming a truly unique and prolific artist, creating beautifully surreal pastels, sculptures, and assemblage artwork made from antiques.

Williams lives for the expressions he sees when his patrons purchase a piece of art.”That moment” [of seeing that expression]. “We came all this way for that moment. It was worth it. It was wonderful,” he said.  “I keep going,”  Williams says about his advancing illness.”I'm not going to stop until I'm gone.”

About Postcards   The award-winning Postcards is produced by Dana Conroy with videography and editing by Kristofor Gieske and Ben Dempcy. The program is made possible by contributions from the voters of Minnesota through a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
