GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Pioneer PBS is organizing events for kids to meet and have pictures taken with Curious George.

On Saturday, June 22 from 10 to 11 a.m., Curious George will be at the Granite Falls Public Library as a part of a special event to celebrate the release of Teresa Peterson’s new children’s book Grasshopper Girl — a story about storytelling and where Grasshopper Girl learns character lessons from Unktomi, the Dakota trickster.

Peterson, a Dakota from the Upper Sioux Community, will read her book and teach children some of the Dakota words used in the book. The book is illustrated by Jordan Rodgers, a Lakota artist studying at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Curious George will also be featured in the Granite Falls Western Fest Parade starting at 1 p.m.

Finally, Curious George will be at the Willmar Stingers vs. the Rochester Honkers baseball game as part of “Dr. Seuss Night” on Tuesday, June 25 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Bill Taunton Stadium, 1401 SW 22nd St. in Willmar. Free tickets to the game are available by calling 1-800-726-3178.
