GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Pioneer PBS announced today that it intends to continue operating all of its broadcast and online services and maintain the current production schedule of local programs for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis. In order to ensure the health of employees who cannot work from home, Pioneer PBS will be closing its studios in Granite Falls and Appleton to the public. All upcoming tours and civic engagement events are cancelled through the end of April. Pioneer PBS staff will still respond to all viewer inquiries submitted to the station via phone, email and social media messaging. Live operators will be on call until 9 p.m. each weekday.

“We expect that with social distancing policies in effect, more people will be watching television and we want to assure our viewers that our most trusted news and award-winning programs will continue without interruption,” said Jon Panzer, interim general manager of Pioneer PBS. Resources for teachers and students can be found on PBS LearningMedia website. The Pioneer PBS Kids channel will provide educational programming 24 hours a day. Hobbyists and crafters will benefit from the CreateTV channel and the PBS NewsHour will keep the region informed of the latest COVID-19 crisis developments.
