GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Pioneer PBS’s Postcards will feature a Tanner Charles, storm chaser and photographer from Kingston, ceramics artist Blayze Buseth of Fergus Falls and a WWII story from Paul Fynboh of Granite Falls. This program will air on Thursday, April 13 at 7 p.m.

Tanner Charles, originally from the small town of Kingston, has been storm chasing for 13 years. He documents the kind of weather that many people wouldn’t dare to get close to–capturing both the fury and the beauty of tornadoes in photos and videos. “As a kid, I would always be looking up at the sky,” said Charles. Postcards caught up with Charles and learned how he found his way into the adrenaline-pumping calling of storm chasing.

Blayze Buseth is a ceramics artist and owner of Creation Shop, a pottery and sculpture workshop in Fergus Falls. Creation Shop is inspired by a quirky cartoon character TOM that Buseth thought up many years ago. In this segment, Buseth talks about a trip to China where he learned the art of ceramics. He brought that knowledge back to Fergus Falls and now shares it with community members. “I have been able to experience and meet people who have never touched clay before and it’s a really cool experience,” Buseth said.

Also included in this episode is a story from Paul Fynboh from Pine River. Fynboh is a WWII Navy veteran who served in the Liberation of the Philippines as an electrician and first loader on a destroyer ship. Fynboh’s story was recorded at the Ray Fagen Memorial Airshow in Granite Falls in 2022.

People in Pioneer PBS’s viewing area can livestream this episode at www.pioneer.org/live on Thursday, April 13 at 7 p.m. This episode will be repeated on Sunday, April 16 at 7 p.m. and Monday, April 17 at 1:30 p.m. The program will also be available to stream at www.pioneer.org/postcards and on Postcards’ YouTube page at www.youtube.com/@PostcardsOnPioneerPBS.
