GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — Pioneer PBS is sponsoring a performance of the Larry Olsen Band as part of the Willmar Lakes Area Life Connections event which will run from 4 p.m. on Thursday April 21 until 2 p.m. on Friday April 22 at the Willmar Civic Center at 2707 Arena Drive in Willmar. At 2 p.m. the Larry Olsen Band will perform for any and all polka aficionados who wish to attend the free event. For more information, contact Pioneer PBS at 1-877-726-3178 or at yourtv@pioneer.org.
“We look forward to re-connecting to all of our Funtime Polka fans in the Willmar area,” said Janet Suckow, Membership director at Pioneer PBS. The COVID-19 pandemic has prevented the annual Life Connections event from happening for the past two years. Gatherings of polka bands and dancers have also been affected by the pandemic. It is expected there will be some pent-up demand for polka dancing now that the positive case rate for COVID has diminished in western Minnesota, according to Sukow.
