GRANITE FALLS, Minnesota, March 20, 2025—Dancer Korma Aguh-Stuckmayer, Breakaway Roper Katie Bell, and the Minnesota Veterans Home will be featured on the next episode of Postcards, which airs Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m. on Pioneer PBS. The episode repeats the following Sunday at 7 p.m. and Monday at 1:30 p.m. Join us for a vibrant fusion of movement and history.

Korma Aguh-Stuckmayer of Golden Valley, Minnesota, founded Afrocontigbo, a Minnesota dance company that shares African contemporary dance. She was inspired while in college at Winona State University, where she saw a need for Africans in diaspora to celebrate their culture and bring others around them to share in it. Born in southeast Nigeria, Aguh-Stuckmayer has her roots in Igboland and is proud of her Igbo identity, which is beautifully reflected in the name of her company, which translates to "African contemporary Igbo."

Katie Bell of Wabasso, Minnesota, is a veteran breakaway roper who competes at rodeos nationwide. While she started in 4-H, it wasn't until later in life that she found her passion for it. Bell works full-time as a bookkeeper and is involved with everything on her farm, making breakaway roping a side hobby that has since become a family affair.

A new Minnesota Veterans Home opened in January 2024 in Montevideo, Minnesota. Staff member Cindy Wilkins and two veterans living there share their thoughts on the significant impact this home has had on both the residents and the local community. Then, on May 31, 2024, a dedication ceremony took place featuring Marvin Garbe, the Chairman of the Montevideo Veterans Home Committee, alongside Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
