GRANITE FALLS, Minn. — On Thursday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. on Pioneer PBS, Prairie Yard & Garden (PY&G) host Mary Holm learns about the art and science of tree grafting from David Vaske of Miltona Greenhouses. The program, "Grafting Trees," will be rebroadcast on Saturday, March 28 at 4 p.m. and Monday, March 30 at 1 p.m. and will be available for online viewing at www.pioneer.org/pyg immediately after Thursday’s broadcast.
As the owner and operator of Miltona Greenhouses in Alexandria, David Vaske is a Ph.D. biochemist by trade, but his real passion is apples and fruit growing. In this episode, Vaske shares his love for grafting buds and wood stock to create wonderful, vibrant trees that can handle the upper midwest’s challenging growing zones.
