APPLETON, Minn. — In honor of Veterans Day 2017, Pioneer will be broadcasting a special, locally produced Veterans Day program on Saturday, November 11 at 7 p.m. The program will be recorded live on Friday, November 10 at the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum in Granite Falls and will feature musical performances by the Yellow Medicine East (YME) Concert Band and Concert Choir and Middle School choir. The keynote speech will be delivered by Lt. Col. Shawnn L. Martin, commander of Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps and professor of Aerospace Studies at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. APPLETON, Minn -- The thirty-first season of Pioneer Public TV’s Prairie Yard & Garden (PYG) will premiere on Thursday, January 18 at 7:30 p.m. With roots beginning in the 1980s, Prairie Yard & Garden has featured the latest scientific information from industry leaders, university educators and local gardening enthusiasts. Hosted by Mary Holm of Morris, the program is produced by the University of Minnesota, Morris in collaboration with the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and Pioneer Public Television.

APPLETON, Minn -- Pioneer Public Television is proud to announce that its documentary Fire and Lighthas now been chosen as an official selection in five film festivals located in California, Washington and Berlin. Directed by Dana Conroy with videography by Ben Dempcy and Kristofor Gieske, Fire and Lightwas featured at a Berlin Flash Film Festival screening held in July 2017 and at the prestigious Mill Valley Film Festival in Marin County, California in October. At the end of October, the film will be shown at the Golden Gate International Film Festival in Cupertino, California and in November it will play at thePortland Film Festival and at the Celluloid Bainbridge Film Festival on Bainbridge Island in Washington. This is the most film festivals to honor a documentary in the 52-year history of Pioneer Public Television.
