-Ginny on the Road
Hi, my name is Pat Kubly and I’m currently volunteering as the chair of the Pioneer board of directors. I’ve served on the board for six years, but I’ve been a viewer of public television for more than 40 years. My children watched Sesame Street and Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood as youngsters. I was amazed at what they learned! My grandkids have also watched the kids’ programming and have enjoyed shows like Curious George and Arthur along with the other public TV kid show favorites.
However, it’s the adult programming that keeps me volunteering for Pioneer. I’ve been a big fan of Downton Abbey and Victoria on Sunday nights. I’m also excited by the history and science programs and the local programs produced by Pioneer – especially Postcards and Prairie Yard & Garden. We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to see the various programs made in western and southwestern Minnesota that feature our region.
I have a coffee cup that says “PBS Nerd” on the side. I guess that describes me because I seldom watch commercial channels. That’s why I’m happy to be a Pioneer volunteer!
