I can't believe the new season of Prairie Sportsman is here! We're very excited to bring you the best in outdoor adventures across the state of Minnesota again in 2018. We're sharing stories from areas like the Sax-Zim Bog where the owl photo above was taken. It's got a pretty unique history in the state that might surprise a few people. We snowmobile across Lake of the Woods to the Northwest Angle, another unique area that is equally surprising in it's inception. We venture on some interesting hunts including sandhill cranes and sharp-tailed grouse. We bike the Minnesota River Bottoms near Minneapolis. We'll fling arrows at carp and even cook up some rough fish to see how they taste. We'll learn about bringing bison back to the prairie, gps tracking studies on waterfowl, plus hunting and fishing from all corners of the state. We also try to offer new perspectives and ideas for conservation and tips on how you can see more wildlife in your backyard.
With the new season we've got some new opportunities for you to follow us. If you haven't yet, add us on Snapchat (@prairiesports), Instagram (@prairiesportsman) and of course Facebook and Twitter.
We'll also be offering weekly tips here and on social media throughout the new season. It's brought to you by SafeBasements of Minnesota. We'd like to offer a huge thank you to SafeBasements of Minnesota for sponsoring this season of Prairie Sportsman!
Last, but not least, thank you for watching the show. Without the strong demand from our viewership, we wouldn't be doing this!
If you missed our first episode of the season, you can view it here. Tune in next week as we visit Marshall Minnesota for the Governor's Pheasant Hunting Opener and go on an hunt with the all-female "Bird Bustin' Babes".
