Ohio based Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers deliver and energetic mix of Bluegrass and Gospel music with inventive instrumental work, a wide variety of vocal arrangements and tasteful, down-home humor. Minneapolis based Jack Klatt and the Cat Swingers specialize in great guitar playing, clever lyrics and ragtime infused catchy tunes anchored by a stand up bass, washboard percussion and accordion.
The performances make up the second program in a 13 week series launched by Pioneer on January 24, 2015 with assistance from the non profit Minnesota Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association(MBOTMA).
“We at Pioneer are delighted to be able to work with MBOTMA to share and promote this great music,” stated Pioneer’s Production Director Timothy H. Bakken. According to Bakken, the program is already gaining a strong following with thousands of online as well as broadcast viewers.
“Grassland Jam” is part of an enhanced line up of programs for Saturdays during the winter months that include a new season of Funtime Polka, Classic Gospel and a new BBC period drama Father Brown along with the 40th season of broadcasting Austin City Limits.
