“Willmar has always been one of our strongest communities in terms of membership and business support,” according to Janet Suckow, Membership Director at Pioneer. “We want to say thank you, celebrate our 50th year of operation and learn from our viewers about the kinds of programs they watch and want to see more of on Pioneer,” she added.
In the past several years, Pioneer’s Postcards program has featured stories about Willmar area residents such as Ron Adams, Fred Cogelow, Mr. B’s Chocolates, Steve Eckblad and the Willmar War Memorial. This past May, Pioneer broadcast a very popular documentary about Spicer area pro waterboarder Alexa Score which has been shared online more than 30,000 time in just the past few weeks.
Whitney Music, Mr. B’s Chocolates, Rice Home Medical, Schwanke Car, Truck and Tractor Museum, UHF Television Fischer Laser Eye Center, Kitchen Fair and Steffl Drilling & Pump Inc have all helped support the programs on Pioneer over the years.
“It all adds up to a great relationship between Pioneer and Willmar,” said Daren Lehne, Pioneer’s Community Relations Representative. “We hope everyone can stop by Thursday,” he added. For more information, contact Janet Suckow or Daren Lehne at (800) 726-3178.
