Each year, thousands of farmers attend IdeAg’s Farmfest Minnesota at the Gilfallin Estate in Redwood County. The event features more than 500 exhibitors, special events, political discussion and the latest innovations in Minnesota agriculture.
EquipALife is a nonprofit organization providing access to "life changing" equipment for people in need of services and people with disabilities. In 2010, EquipALife began working with the University of Minnesota as the statewide provider for the Minnesota AgrAbility Project. This project helps farmers and their family’s access equipment, design physical modifications, and provide wrap around supports to ensure this important component of our economy continues to strive.
KARE 11's retired master storyteller, Ken Speake, assisted in the collection of these reports from Farmfest. Pioneer Public TV is grateful to Speake for his assistance during these interviews in helping to mentor Pioneer’s younger generation of journalists.
