Meet Australian native Leanne Larson as she paints a live wedding portrait and talks about her artwork at her home studio in Garfield. Learn about the international relationship between Montevideo, Minn., and its sister city in Uruguay, through the music of candombe drumming.
December 21, 2014 7:00 p.m.: Worthington Windsurfing Regatta
Hoist your sails and cruise into Worthington for the National Windsurfing Regatta! This national competition for windsurfing is held every few years in this windy city. Learn about the history of this water sport, listen to the music of the Unvarnished Music Festival and take in the art on the shores of this beautiful lake town in southern Minnesota.
December 28, 2014 7:00 p.m.: Litchfield Painter, Lake Park Glass Artist & St. Stephen’s Slovenian Festival
Take in the nostalgic local scenes painted by Litchfield native Sharon Schuetze. Visit the glass studio of Becky Mitchell, who has a passion for piecing together colorful works of art. Join us for the St. Stephen Centennial which hosted Dr. Božo Cerar, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia. St. Stephen is believed to be the oldest Slovenian settlement in the United States.
January 4, 2014 7:00 p.m. Canby Historic Home, New York Mills Sculptor & International Violinist
Take a tour of the historic, majestic 1891 Lund-Hoel House in Canby that remains “the talk of the town,” see New York Mills artist Timothy Cassidy weld his unique outdoor metal sculptures and hear the beautiful music of internationally acclaimed violin virtuoso, Nuno Flores.
