The Square Lake Film Festival was created 12 years ago as a way to bring exposure to the independent and largely unrecognized film work being done in and around the Twin Cities. Since then, the Festival expanded to include a lineup of local musicians. Last year, Johnson’s documentary on musician Holly Hansen was selected for the Festival.
“We consider it a great honor to have Pioneer’s locally produced programs to be recognized in this way,” stated Pioneer’s President and General Manager Les Heen. “We seek to create artful television that reflects the creative spirit of our broadcast region,” Heen added.
