Channel 49 (K49FA) is back on the air.

Pioneer Public TV upgraded equipment at our tower in the Fergus Falls area. The analog transmitter was replaced with a digital unit that will transmit all four of our multicast channels.

Viewers who watch the Channel 49 over-the-air analog signal through a set-top antenna or outside antenna will need to take a few steps to receive the new signals.

  1. With an analog television, add an analog-to-digital converter box. These boxes are commonly available at electronics stores or through other retailers over the internet.
  2. If you are already using a converter box that has an “analog pass-through” function, you will no longer need that pass-through option to receive Channel 49.
  3. If you are using a television that has a built-in digital tuner, you will simply need to rescan for signals in your area after the Channel 49 construction work is complete.
